Purpose
To develop strategy, provide direction and manage the UK team to generate sales of GAM fund products (and / or segregated mandates) to a range of potential intermediary and institutional clients (for, amongst others, financial advisors, wealth platforms, discretionary fund managers, investment / multi-managers and UK domiciled private banks, endowments, insurance companies and pension funds) within the UK and associated territorial regions (such as the Channel Islands, the IoM and Ireland). To be responsible also for generating own sales and meet or exceed individual annual sales targets, as agreed with line manager.
Main Duties & Responsibilities- Implement clear sales strategy which includes identifying market and client segments, appropriate strategies for UK market and ensure that team composition is suited to the defined sales strategy.- Support team to maintain existing client relationships and to grow the client base through various targeted and defined approaches, conducted within the appropriate regulatory framework.- Be responsible for idea generation in relation to fund manager road shows, seminars, sales/client events and make formal presentations to potential and existing clients or client groups.- Actively participate in product strategy and fund development for the UK market in conjunction with Head of Product Development and Global Head of Sales.- Be available as necessary to contribute to relevant GAM subsidiary board and committees.- Oversee the marketing and development of the Managed Fund Solutions offering in the UK and also non-UK markets where appropriate and in conjunction with sales heads in other regions.- Maintain good working relationships with other business areas within GAM, in particular with Investment Management, Marketing and Legal, Compliance and Client Services. Exchange information to the benefit of the business and sales generation.- Undertake a wide range of tasks, as required by line Manager.
Qualifications & Experience- Proven success and experience raising assets for similar products from the same client groups.- Sound understanding of investment strategies across asset classes, including alternatives- Holistic understanding of the UK market across client segments and regions, including a sound grasp of the necessary foundations required to be in place.- Established contacts within client group.- Experience of presenting at both small and large size groups.- A graduate, ideally with post graduate business qualification.- IMC qualification
