**Role**:
A fantastic career opportunity with no prior experience required to develop your skills as a medication dispenser and patient services advisor in a GP practice. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients, whilst working in a supportive and collaborate work environment.
Full dispensing training with the view of becoming a fully qualified dispensing/pharmacy technician. It is estimated that the training modules take between 7 to 12 months to complete and are online.
The hourly rate will increase once you have successfully completed your qualification.
**Job description**:
You will work with our dispensing team at Riverbank Surgery (Westcott) and Hillside Surgery (Box Hill), and on our reception desks at New House Surgery (Dorking). Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Learning how to check all medicines dispensed under the supervision of a dispensing GP
- Learning to ensure all prescriptions are labelled accurately
- Learning to collect prescription charges in accordance with dispensary protocol
- Learning how to maintain stock levels within the dispensary
- Learning how to receive and store supplies in accordance with current policy, ensuring the cold chain is maintained where applicable
- Interacting with our patients in person, via telephone and via our website
- Booking appointments, issuing repeat prescriptions, and managing administrative tasks.
- Working autonomously but also as part of a team
- Excellent computer skills are essential, and you will need your own transport.
You will act as a point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
