**12 Month FTC with potential to become permanent, Monday to Friday
- 37.5 hours per week**

As a Team Leader you will manage the Formulation Team day-to-day activity and work with the wider Procurement team to deliver excellent product and nutritional quality at optimal cost for the customer and the business alike.

You will do this by challenging, testing, and enhancing production, nutritional and unit costs; whilst keeping an eye on optimal consistency of both the product and process.

You will also engage with Technical, QA and Supply Chain stakeholders across the business to help ensure we achieve our business strategy and budgetary objectives.

What you will be doing:

- Leading team organisation, prioritisation, and execution in relation to monthly formulation cycles and ad hoc requests, including on-call provision
- Seek to simplify and standardise processes where possible
- Excellent collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups, delivering a high level of service
- Maintain the reputation of the formulation role as proactive and collaborative, providing cost supported challenges to nutritionists and operations
- Support training and development for other team members, ensuring that all reports have objectives and development plans
- Encourage healthy team spirit and moral
- Lead the team with enthusiastic promotion of Winning Ways with intent to make this a Great Place to work
- Be a formulation system (Format) expert user within the Mono Feed business
- Act as point of contact for formulation across ABN and wider formulation users
- Work with and help develop our processes and procedures to deliver optimised feed formulations that meet the physical and nutritional quality standards of the business.
- Balancing this with wider needs such as mill throughput and other supply chain objectives.
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of raw material availability and customer specifications to inform procurement decisions
- Lead the monthly Formulation meeting and contribute effectively to the routine departmental and business meetings schedule, including regional QA meetings

What you will bring:

- Degree in animal nutrition or similar qualification. (Desirable)
- Expert on Format front end processes, with working knowledge of Format management system (Essential)
- Experience of leading a team (Desirable)
- Analytical with good commercial awareness. (Desirable)
- Numerate with excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret performance data. (Essential)
- A strong desire to succeed and an absolute can-do attitude, linking in with ABN’s vision for the Mono Channel and broader business.(Essential)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with internal and external customers. (Essential)
- Ability to multitask and prioritise deadlines, keeping calm in a dynamic and fast paced environment (Essential)
