Cardiff Orthodontic Laboratory supplies bespoke & custom-made dental appliances to Dental and Orthodontic practices throughout the UK and further afield as part of the ALS group.

The selected individual will be given full training in the production of handmade and individually formed dental casts and appliances used in the provision dental and orthodontic treatments.

Excellent attention to detail is required along with an extremely high level of concentration.

You will be given on the job training to perform various tasks within a busy Orthodontic Dental Laboratory, to include the following:

- Pouring of individual Dental casts in plaster
- Trimming of Dental casts to set standards
- Adhering to set written prescriptions / instructions
- Produce vacuum/pressure formed Dental splints
- Produce other vacuum/pressure formed appliances (Mouthguards, Nightguards, Whitening trays)
- Hand trimming of various Dental appliances to set standards

As stated, no specific experience is required, we will provide you with full training where needed.

**Qualifications and characteristics required for the role**
- Excellent practical skills & manual dexterity - Those with any kind of model making experience, hands on crafting or artistic backgrounds have fit in well with this line of work. Where possible, give examples of any practical hands on skills when applying.
- Have an aptitude for working with delicate machinery
- The ability to read and interpret instructions accurately
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work alone as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Educated to GCSE level.
