**Location: Uttoxeter - Elkes Biscuits**

**Salary: £34,500**

**Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5pm, Fridays 8.30am - 4pm with flexibility to cover 24/7 operation**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HR Advisor to join the HR team at our Uttoxeter site, with approximately 500 colleagues operating within a 24/7 manufacturing environment

The role is responsible for delivering an effective and proactive HR service to ensure organisational effectiveness by supporting line managers to acquire, develop and manage people through the implementation of HR policies & procedures in line with legal requirements, group standards and current best practice.
- Monitor and review absence levels on a daily, weekly, monthly basis, ensuring absence management has a high profile throughout the business.
- Work with line managers to ensure absence management tools are used effectively (Attendance Contact Sheets & RTW’s)
- Support line managers with absences reviews / disciplinaries / grievances
- Work with line managers and the training team to support the succession planning process
- Provide proactive first level advice, mentoring and guidance to line managers on a range of company policies which impact on the management of their people, including holidays, family friendly policies, grading, remuneration & benefits.
- Liaison with agency labour provider regarding hours / rates / reviews as and when required
- With support of the HR Assistant:

- Ensure personnel files & the HR system are maintained
- Ensure holiday records are maintained and communicated as appropriate
- Liaise with payroll to ensure any changes in terms, rates, starters, leavers etc are communicated and captured.
- Work with HR Team on policy generation / re-work to ensure legal compliance
- Operate exit interview process for all leavers.

**About you**
- CIPD qualified or part qualified or working towards the qualification
- Experience within a busy HR department ideally within a unionised manufacturing environment
- Can positively challenge the status quo
- Resilient, self-starter with excellent attention to detail
- Sound planning and organisational capabilities
- Positive approach to work with evidence of previous success in an environment that demands working at pace
- Flexibility in working hours is required due to 24/7 operation
- Excellent administrative skills

**About Us**

Elkes Biscuits has real heritage in both the local area and also within the industry. In the early 1900s Samuel Elkes opened a confectionery shop in Uttoxeter and in 1928 a purpose-built biscuit factory was opened on the current site. The bakery is known for the biscuit barrel and is the home of the Malted Milk biscuits along with producing Ginger biscuits, Farley's Rusks, Custard Creams, Chocolate Digestive Bars, Oaties and Digestives. We provide retailer own label biscuits to all the major retailers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Lidl in addition to the Elke’s brand.
