**Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Advisor**, Medical Research Centre, 6 month FTC role, London, to £41k pro rated.

Our client, a world-leading medical research centre is looking for an EDI Advisor to join their team. This role will be key in supporting the implementation of the equity, diversity and inclusion strategy.

This is a 6 month FTC role to start ASAP. They currently operate a hybrid model with a min 8 days a month in the office.

**The main duties of the EDI Advisor role are**:

- Advise on and co-ordinate the development of EDI interventions i.e. to tackle bullying and harassment, progress disability and LGBTQ+ equality or equality charter co-ordination
- Manage projects, including coordination of cross-organisational teams, stakeholder engagement, and the coordination of input from different groups
- Contribute to policy review and development, liaising and consulting with key stakeholders to ensure high levels of engagement, participation and compliance
- Ensure that the organisation is actively considering equality, diversity and inclusion issues and principles throughout its decision-making processes and strategy development
- Take responsibility, alongside strategic partners (e.g. the Events Team), to organise and deliver annual events
- Co-ordinate equality working groups & project-specific working groups e.g. to progress Disability or LGBTQ+
- Working with across departments to support the communication and implementation of local EDI action plans
- Build partnerships including e.g. Disability, LGBTQ+ and other staff / student networks to enable collaboration
- Engage with external regional and national networks to keep abreast of good practice and developments
- Working with the wider team, contribute to equality, diversity and inclusion matters and support development of intersectional initiatives and interventions
- Advise and guide colleagues and students on equality, diversity and inclusion challenges and best practise
- Develop and deliver high quality communications, briefings and training to support EDI
- Work with students, staff (inc the Events Team) and external organisations to plan and organise EDI related events inc. production of publicity
- Inform colleagues and key internal stakeholders about equality and diversity data and related external research, highlighting specific areas of interest to staff within the department
- Co-ordinate equality data collection & processes, to support an evidence-based data-driven approach to tackling structural inequalities and developing evidence-based EDI interventions
- Develop, maintain and regularly update key EDI information resources and make these readily available
- Quickly build relationships across the organization

Skills and experience
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a large organisation, preferably within an educational environment
- Experience of implementing a broad range of equality, diversity and inclusion activities including positive action and anti-racist activities
- Experience of engaging, consulting and working with a range of stakeholders
- Project management in equality, diversity & inclusion facilitating change from inception to implementation
- Supporting implementation of equalities frameworks, e.g. Race Equality Charter, Athena SWAN, Stonewall
- Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of EDI related legislation
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of key EDI issues
- The ability to gain support and actively drive organisational change in a professional, constructive and non
- confrontational manner using a confident and collaborative approach
- Excellent communication, persuasion and relationship building
- Excellent relationship building abilities across a range of stakeholders, including senior management, staff networks and trade unions
- Ability to build, develop and maintain supportive and constructive working relationships
- Highly organised, logical along with ability to handle many competing priorities
- Acts with honesty, integrity, and discretion
