The Talent for Care Co-Ordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the Trust delivers on its commitment to widening participation and the Apprenticeship and Work Experience agendas. This will be underpinned by the four main areas for action identified in the Talent for Care strategy: 'Get Ready' - pre employment activities including Careers information and guidance for school age pupils, taster days and work experience. 'Get in' - opportunities for people to start their career in a support role 'Get on' - support people to be the best they can be in the job they do 'Go further' - support people to gain promotion through formal training, including registered professions.

Support the Talent for Care team in implementing Apprenticeship and Work Experience Programmes.

Promote the Apprenticeship Strategy to Trust staff, emphasising continuous learning.

Build strong relationships with stakeholders and external education providers.

Ensure the Trust offers a diverse range of Apprenticeship standards to meet staff development needs and Trust objectives.

Recruit and train Health Ambassadors for events inspiring young people to consider health sector employment.

Maintain up-to-date records of Health Ambassadors for reporting purposes.

Foster relationships with partner organizations, including schools and further education providers.

Provide basic career advice and describe various pathways within the NHS to staff and the public.

Facilitate Employability, Supported Interns, T-Level, and Apprenticeship cohorts by delivering soft skills training.

Increase internal work placements as a recruitment pipeline.

Promote the value of placements to Trust teams and create a pipeline of future applicants.

Promote Skills for Life opportunities to assist with developing staff to improve their functional skills, including Maths, English and Digital literacy

Communication
- To assist in communicating and promoting the Talent for Care strategy
- To be welcoming, positive and engaging; providing clear and concise advice to people who are looking into a career within the NHS
- To help maintain links with service managers to promote the Apprenticeship and Work Experience strategies and advise as necessary
- To help maintain links with external organisations, such as local authorities, JCP’s, Academies and Social Care.
- To help foster and maintain a relationship with Training providers for Apprenticeship standards
- Provide general advice and guidance to members of staff, Managers and other enquirers on issues.
- To deal with correspondence within own responsibility and to effect timely relay or escalation of issues outside the scope of the post.

Analytical and Judgemental Skills / Freedom to Act
- To use their judgement and experience to identify Apprenticeship and work experience opportunities that would be suitable to develop the Trust’s workforce.
- To produce short reports and present recommendations and possible solutions to the Talent for Care team or wider Trust teams at monthly meetings
- The post holder is required to be proactive and use own initiative to deliver the programme of work and provide regular progress reports to the Talent for Care Manager to share information with NHS England to understand regional position
- To make recommendations for improving performance through developing effective monitoring and reporting processes that meet service need.
- Well motivated with evidence of an ability to work without direct supervision and to use own initiative.
- Escalate queries outside of job remit to the Talent for Care Manager. Ability to exercise independence and judgement
