The post holder will develop, implement and maintain office systems to enable the Clinical Effectiveness Team to operate smoothly and effectively, this will include developing and maintaining databases and office procedures information through inputting data and extracting data from internal and external databases.

The post holder will be involved in the set up and co-ordination of directorate and Trust level mortality reviews and provide effective administrative support to any Tabletop Reviews in accordance with the serious incident review policy and Learning from Deaths Policy.

Establish, maintain and generate reports from a Database

Support the clinical audit team by maintaining the NICE database to ensure this is updated timely and accurately.

Clinical audit duties will also include; liaising with clinicians regarding audit updates; administrative support of clinical audit (requesting& returning patient notes, data entry for local and national audits) and support with the production of the clinical audit newsletter. Additionally, there will be a requirement to obtain and copy notes for external use by NCEPOD.

The successful postholder must possess excellent communication skills across a variety of professionals and outside agencies.

The post holder will develop, implement and maintain office systems to enable the Clinical Effectiveness Team to operate smoothly and effectively, this will include developing and maintaining databases and office procedures information through inputting data and extracting data from internal and external databases.

The successful post holder must have proven experience of working within an NHS Trust or similar healthcare setting.

Requirement for the postholder to carry out regular horizon scanning with regard to changes in legislation & assist with dissemination of NICE Guidance, policies, and processes

Support the clinical audit team by maintaining the NICE database to ensure this is updated timely and accurately.

Clinical audit duties will also include; liaising with clinicians regarding audit updates; administrative support of clinical audit (requesting& returning patient notes, data entry for local and national audits) and support with the production of the clinical audit newsletter. Knowledge of clinical effectiveness an administrative procedures and systems, the majority of which are non-routine and acquired through training and experience to vocational level 3 or equivalent, plus specialist knowledge of specialist function terms, organisational policies and procedures and knowledge/experience to deal with non-routine issues such as problem solving or developing alternative or additional procedures.

The post holder will be involved in the set up and co-ordination of directorate and Trust level mortality reviews and provide effective administrative support to any Tabletop Reviews in accordance with the serious incident review policy and Learning from Deaths Policy.

Obtain patient’s case notes and monitor the requesting and tracking of incidents/investigations bringing information to the attention of the head of clinical effectiveness as soon as it is available.

Establish, maintain and generate reports from a Database

Occasionally participate in research & development in relation to mortality to keep knowledge base at a high standard

The post holder will co-ordinate learning outcomes/themes and communicate effectively across the Trust to aid and improve shared learning.

The post holder will work with directorate mortality leads, governance leads, bereavement team and clinicians to ensure audit and reviews are conducted in a timely manner.

Deal efficiently and effectively with direct and indirect (i.e. telephone, face to face) enquiries from all levels of medical and nursing staff and other health professionals and staff and patients and their families.
