Our Northwich office is looking to recruit a Residential Property Assistant to support the team’s lead Solicitor.
**Department**:Residential Property
**Branch**: Northwich
**Hours**: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm
**Role**:Conveyancing Assistant
**Purpose of Role**: To provide high quality support and assistance to the Residential Property team.
**Responsible to**: Residential Property Associate
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Assisting the Associate in the general administration of files, to include, amongst other things; opening new files, input of data in to the database, filing, balancing and closing files.
- Actively progress transactions at the direction of the Associate including:
- Contacting clients, agents, referrers, search providers and other parties Solicitors
- Requesting and drafting documentation fundamental to the transaction such as searches, SDLT and LTT returns and Land Registry Applications;
- Obtaining all required documentation from the client, other-side, third parties (such as HMLR, HMRC and Lenders);
- Drafting sale contracts and re-mortgage documentation;
- Dealing with Lenders on both sale and purchase matters, checking redemption statements, downloading mortgage offers;
- Drafting replies to enquiries;
- Preparing invoices and completion statements;
- Setting up files for completion;
- Dealing with post completion matters.
- Comply fully with the CQS Protocol, Office Manual and Staff Handbook.
- Transcription of digital dictation when required.
- Such other tasks as the firm may from time to time require.
**Experience**:Legal experience within a Residential Property team. Case management experience would be advantageous although training will be given.
**Knowledge / Skills**:
- Appropriate manual dexterity and keyboard skills.
- Effective and courteous communicator, both face to face and over the telephone.
- Work calmly and accurately under pressure.
- Prioritise tasks.
- Effective management of time
- Good standard of computer literacy and willingness and ability to learn new technology.
