What you'll be doing...

Assist in the preparation, publication and maintenance of the register of electors, including the annual canvas and individual registration, in accordance with relevant legislation and statutory deadlines.

Manage and oversee the monthly rolling registration process, ensuring that the register is complete and accurate, maintaining the high standard of data quality expected in the authority, ensuring registers and monthly updates distributed according to legal requirements.

Assist with the preparation for and conduct of all types of elections and polls including making all the necessary arrangements for temporary staffing, premises, equipment, printing, posting and other administrative matters, inclusive of casual town/parish vacancies and bi-elections.

Understand and operate electoral registration and election software systems and provide customer support advisors and other staff, with training and support on its use.

Assist the electoral services manager with the organisation and co-ordination of all elections (including by-elections and referenda) and periodic review of electoral arrangements i.e. electoral boundary maintenance work.

You must have...

*Good standard of education including numeracy and literacy.
*Demonstrable experience in a customer facing environment and able to work to targets and deadlines.
*Demonstrable knowledge and use of electoral registration and election software systems.
*Demonstrable evidence of attention to detail and consistently producing accurate work.
*Ability to multi task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
*Ability to exercise judgement in a range of scenarios including working with different departments and finding creative solutions.
*Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually.
*Able to be flexible regarding hours and duties at key times.
*Ability to undertake some manual lifting and moving tasks i.e. lifting, moving and emptying ballot boxes at election time.
