_**I have a great new role that I am recruiting for on behalf of my client. They are looking for a Communications Officer to work on a temporary contract until 31st March 2023.**_

**Salary**: 16.53 per hour

Contract: Temporary until 31st March 2023

Hours: 22 hours per week. The working pattern would be across three week days. Working days need to definitely include Tuesdays and Fridays, with flexibility over which one the third day is.

50/50 hybrid policy (50% from the office and 50% from home), This can be flexible to suit.

**Job Purpose**:
To maintain and enhance the reputation of the organisation and promote its services by:

- Devising, developing and implementing communications and marketing plans for internal and external audiences.
- Working closely with media outlets

**Responsibilities**:
1. Producing comprehensive short, medium and long-term communication and marketing plans.
2. Establishing contact with local, national and specialist media and managing both proactive and reactive media relations for service areas.
3. Providing expert advice and support for members and officers, chief executive and other senior figures.
4. Producing and editing content for a wide range of channels and publications
5. Monitoring and, where appropriate, responding to media coverage and social media channels
6. Issuing/organising media invites, photo opportunities and other publicity events.
7. Contributing to joint communications with partner organisations.
8. Design, print and production support

**Qualifications**:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Experience and Knowledge Required:

- Evidence of highly effective and successful work.
- Experience in public relations or media.
- Experience of liaising with the media.
- Experience of liaising with clients to produce publicity material.
- Experience of briefing designers.
- Knowledge of what makes a good story in the media
- Knowledge of how the media operate and how to liaise with them effectively
- Knowledge of developing and commissioning marketing and publicity materials.

**Skills and abilities Required**:

- Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
- Good IT and keyboard skills.
- High level advocacy and influencing skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and co-ordinate projects and campaigns
