**Main purpose of the job**:
This is an exciting opportunity that entails actively supporting and expanding the Portugal Prints project. Your role will involve offering adaptable and responsive support to a team of creative facilitators and the artists in our care.

We're seeking a passionate and ambitious Creative Arts Coordinator dedicated to enhancing the mental health and well-being of our artists. Your role will involve proactively delivering a high-quality, accessible therapeutic arts programme tailored to meet the diverse needs of our community.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- To oversee to the day to day running of the project, for example ordering and maintaining art supplies, ensuring the art studio is maintained clean and tidy and dealing with general enquiries and management of new referrals.
- To take ownership and lead the growth and development of the service by networking, promoting the project, and driving increased referrals. This will involve working closely with the line manager and the business development team to achieve these objectives.
- To organise taster sessions and follow up on potential referrals.
- To undertake entry assessments with new referrals.
- To plan and facilitate regular art groups that inspire curiosity and creativity for a range of artistic styles, mediums and interests.
- To act as a key worker for an identified number of artists within a goal setting and with a recovery approach. These should be strengths
- based and oriented towards reinforcing a positive identity and developing valued social roles - and creative and artistic development.
- To liaise and work with Portugal Prints’ artists care team e.g. CMHTs, GPs and local authorities.
- To work with service users to identify short and long-term goals and how to achieve them.
- To signpost where appropriate for specific needs and issues outside the remit of the service, e.g. housing, welfare needs.
- To liaise, maintain and develop partnerships with Galleries and Museums as well as with other organisations and agencies within the arts and educational world.
- To liaise with other art agencies in order to maximise artist’ access to appropriate resources, submitting artwork, sign posting to other services, and linking with other resources in the community.
- To plan, organise and deliver open studios, exhibitions and other events.
- To organise regular outings to a variety of museums, including liaising with host organisations as well as managing the travel, group numbers and health and safety.
- To oversee the personal budget, direct payments and self-funding income streams ensuring timely payments from our artists and their local authorities.
- To liaise with the line manager and BWW Mind finance department to manage attendance, billing, and project expenditure.
- To coordinate and oversee the execution of risk assessments, effectively managing risks involved in working with both groups and individuals.
- To support and empower the team in implementing effective risk management practices and protocols, and ensure these are continuously reviewed, assessed and updated to ensure a safe environment for everyone involved.
- To ensure that any safeguarding concerns or incidents are dealt with and reported in a timely way, in line with BWW Mind policies and procedures.
- To supervise and support the team in effectively managing any safeguarding cases, in line with relevant organisational safeguarding policies and procedures.
- To work collaboratively as part of the team, taking a share of administrative tasks and take the lead on providing impact measurement, monitoring and financial data to line manager, as required.
- Foster a positive working environment by establishing clear professional boundaries and cultivating supportive relationships with both staff and clients.
- To provide line management, supervision and appraisals for all line reports, using the BWW Mind guidelines on supervision, probation and appraisal.
- To participate in your own regular supervision meetings and annual appraisals with the line manager.
- To represent the service at wider organisational meetings, forums and events and provide updates and collaborate cross departmentally where appropriate.
- To attend and participate in team reflective practice sessions.
- To be familiar with, and adhere to, all organisational polices, including confidentiality, safeguarding, risk assessment, and health and safety.
- To share responsibility in the management of Portugal Prints marketing and social media accounts.
- To keep accurate written and electronic records as required by BWW Mind.
- To contribute to the development of good practice by supporting a culture of learning and reflective thinking within the team.
- To assist in the recruitment and selection of staff.
- To undertake any other tasks or duties appropriate with this role.
