The role

As a Yard Operative you will be responsible for ensuring workshop operations and movements are completed in safe and timely fashion by working closely with the Yard Supervisor and various department supervisors. Your duties will include:

- Actively contributing to health and safety on site, promoting a positive culture.
- Loading and Unloading Lorries, slinging loads, and banking cranes.
- Operating plant ensuring equipment is loaded/moved into designated storage areas.
- Working to the highest of standard ensuring any non-conformance are not attributed to poor practices or workmanship.

Who we’re looking for:

- You are an advocate for Health & Safety and can lead by example
- You experience working in a busy yard and have an in-depth understanding of plant operation
- You have excellent communication skills both verbally and written

Essential:

- 3 GSCS’s including Maths, English at C grade and above
- Extensive experience working in a busy yard
- Practical hands-on motivated person
- Forklift, Telehandler license
- Slinger/signaler/banksman license.
- Full UK Driving license

Desirable
- CSCS Card
- First aider
- Forklift
- LGV License advantageous
- Crawler crane/ mobile crane ticket
