Job Description

Fugro are recruiting a Yard Operative to join our team in Falmouth, you as the successful yard operative will be responsible for ensuring workshop operations and movements are completed in safe and timely fashion by working closely with the Yard Supervisor and various department supervisors.

This job is for you if:

- You are an advocate for Health & Safety and can lead by example
- You have experience working in a busy yard and have an in-depth understanding of plant operation
- You have excellent communication skills both verbally and written

Who you’ll be working with:
On a daily basis you will work internally with the various WS Department staff, Yard Supervisor & Team members to ensure a smooth operation of yard movements.

You may also work on site at times due to specialist knowledge of plant mobiliastion where you will be required to liaise with mobilisation manager/Supervisors.

Here’s what a typical day would be like:

- Actively contributing to health and safety on site, promoting a positive culture.
- Loading and Unloading Lorries, slinging loads, and banking cranes.
- Operating plant ensuring equipment is loaded/moved into designated storage areas.
- Working to the highest of standard ensuring any non-conformance are not attributed to poor practices or workmanship.

Who we’re looking for:
Essential
- 3 GCSE’s Including Maths and English at grade C or above
- Extensive experience working in a busy yard
- Full UK Clean driving licence
- A practical, hands on, motivated personality
- Folk lift/telehandler licence
- Slinger/signaller/Banksman licence

Desirable
- LGV license advantageous
- CSCS card
- First Aider
- Crawler crane/mobile crane ticket
