**Hours**: Flexible/ADHOC min 5 hours a week initially with a view to possible increasing if role requires
**Salary**:£20-25 per hour
Great Minds Together are delighted to announce that we are the Regional Hub for the North West for Autism Central. This is a new programme, co-designed to provide high-quality and accessible autism information, education, and coaching for families, and carers, and co-delivered by autistic people, families, and carers. Autism Central has been commissioned by NHS England’s Workforce, Training and Education Team and is delivered nationally by nine not-for-profit organisations.
Great Minds Together are now recruiting a Peer Educator Lead, who is a family member or carer of autistic people and/or autistic themselves. Peer Educator Leads will work with and support the Autism Central Team. You will oversee and support the Peer Educators. As a Peer Educator Lead, you will be trained to coach, signpost, and share your learning with other parents and carers of autistic people.
Delivered in a variety of ways, including facilitating virtual & in-person group sessions and 1-2-1 support. The focus will be on meeting the needs parent & carers of autistic individuals and on signposting for access to local and national services. Sessions will be delivered in ways that suit local parent and carers, either in person or online. As well as delivering Peer Education & 1-2-1 sessions, you will support your team of Peer Educators with their sessions and any other concerns/queries they have.

- Do you have lived experience of autism (as an autistic individual, family member, carer, or personal assistant)? _
- Do you have up-to-date knowledge of autism and neurodiversity, including a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by autistic people and their families? _

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
**Experience**:
- Lived experience of autism - E
- Experience working with and providing support to autistic and neurodivergent individuals and their families - E
- Experience of safeguarding vulnerable children, young people and/or adults - E
- Experience of providing mentorship and coaching to staff or volunteers - E
**Knowledge & Skills**:
- Ability to communicate effectively around high issues with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and with varying needs - E
- A thorough understanding of the challenges faced by autistic and neurodivergent individuals - E
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - E
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: £20.00-£25.00 per hour
