An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Park Ranger to join their friendly team based in Medway Towns initially on a temporary basis. There may be an opportunity for permanent employment after a qualifying period, for the right candidate.

The main purpose of the role is to assist in the conservation and usage of parklands and park resources, ensuring the visitors follow posted rules and remain safe during their visit.

Your key responsibilities include:

Patrolling the parks on foot or in a vehicle, inspecting park premises to ensure they are in good order, clean and tidy for visitors.
Leading visitors on a tour to provide information about the park, highlighting park features, wildlife and landmarks.
Ensuring park rules are followed by visitors and enforcing if needed.
Assisting in managing congestion and capacity of visitors to parks, centres, car parks and camps.
Responding to complaints if applicable to ensure public safety.
Carry out schedules planned maintenance, for example basic repairs of pathways, fencing, trails.
Administer first aid if needed.You will ideally have a knowledge/interest of biology, the environment and have excellent customer service and communication skills.

You will also have a full driving license with no disqualifications and a maximum of 6 points for insurance purposes.

Working hours are 8am-4pm, less breaks, Monday-Friday, equating to 37 hours per week
