What it's like to work here Standen is an Arts and Crafts family home set in a beautiful hillside garden. Alongside portfolio property Nymans, both estates are perfect microcosms of the High Weald AONB in which they sit. With wooded valleys, ghylls, waterways, ponds, wildflower meadowsand sandstone outcrops.

Much of the woodland is ancient and beyond have meadows under restoration, woodland creation areas, ponds to restore and new orchards. The estates are compact but incredibly varied with fabulous views, places of peace and tranquillity, making the portfolioa truly wonderful place to work. The perfect place for rangers to grow their career, where no two days are the same.

What you'll be doing Based at Standen but with regular opportunities to work across the portfolio at Nymans, this is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive team in an ever-growing location. As part of the Ranger team, your key role will be to help us deliver our conservationambitions whilst ensuring that our sites are accessible, offer outstanding outdoor experiences and are presented to the highest possible standard.

You'll be working with experienced colleagues and alongside volunteers implementing all aspects of the annual work plans to the highest level. With your endless passion for our work, you’ll help protect and care for habitats, wildlife, property, and machinery,and inspire others to love this beautiful place as much as you do. You’ll build relationships in the local community, proudly representing the National Trust.

You’ll also share and promote the excellent conservation work that we do here, ensuring special places are to be both protected and enjoyed by everyone for ever.

**In this role, you’ll work some weekends and bank holidays.**

You’ll need to;
- Deliver practical land, access and conservation management work
- Have a passion for nature
- Be able to engage with visitors to ensure they understand the value of your work
- Be a team player
- Be able to work safely, with risk assessments and compliance with safety procedures
- Have experience working in a similar outdoor setting
- Competence with machinery and equipment with the required relevant certificates
- A full UK driving licence
