Park Ranger - Hampton Court Palace

Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) is a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. We create space for spirits to stir and be stirred.

We are looking for someone to work as a key member of the Garden & Estates team to ensure estate maintenance is kept to a high standard and safe for all park users across the 750 acres (304 hectares) of our parkland.

You will undertake practical habitat management work, repairing and inspecting site infrastructure, and carrying out inspections and surveys. You will also support security matters relating to the estate.

You will be leading volunteer groups and supervising contractors, as well as leading some guided walks/events. Other responsibilities include undertaking tree inspections, supporting the welfare objectives for the resident deer herd, and delivering projects to meet conservation objectives towards enhanced biodiversity.

This role will also require you to liaise with several external stakeholder groups, e.g. the Metropolitan Police, the Environment Agency, boat mooring contractors, etc. to ensure the effective delivery of Historic Royal Palaces legal and regulatory requirements.

**About you**

Experience in land, access, and conservation management is essential alongside practical experience of countryside/estate/park maintenance across a broad range of habitats.

You will also have experience of developing and delivering work programs to meet conservation and access outcomes, delivering public/visitor engagement, and working with volunteers.

Applicants should have strong organisational skills, a focus on working safely and leading on compliance, and preferably certifications such as chainsaw use, tractor driving, and towing trailers.

Good communication skills along with the ability to provide a high level of customer service are also essential and you must demonstrate a passion for nature and the outdoors and be able to work both on your own initiative and in a team.

A full, clean UK driving license is required.

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£27,984.00 per year
