SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Tower Hamlets Primary School

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partnered primary school in Tower Hamlets starting in September. This role will be based in a SEN provision within a mainstream school, providing invaluable support to small groups of SEN children, particularly those with severe verbal/non-verbal Autism.

We are seeking a candidate with both personal and professional experience in working with SEN, specifically Autism, to assist in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a 1:1 setting, familiarity with PECS and Phonics, and the confidence to support the teacher in their daily duties. This role is perfect for a graduate looking to gain insight into the education industry or anyone with prior experience as a teaching assistant.

Candidates with expertise in any SEN, including moderate to severe Autism and behavior management, are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous experience in SEN, whether personal or professional, is a requirement for this role.

Daily Duties:
- Provide support to small groups of SEN children in the classroom
- Assist with individualized learning activities and interventions
- Implement strategies to support communication and social interaction
- Collaborate with the teacher to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support with behavior management and emotional regulation
- Monitor and track progress of SEN students
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities
