SEN Teaching Assistant - Full Time - Tower Hamlets

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tower Hamlets, London
Role Type: Full-Time
Hourly Rate: £13.50 - £15.00 per hour
Start Date: September

Empowering Learning is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic primary school in Tower Hamlets. This full-time role involves providing one-on-one support to a KS1 student with Autism within a mainstream classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 student with Autism, helping them to access the curriculum and engage fully in classroom activities.
Develop and implement tailored support plans to meet the student's individual needs.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to monitor the student's progress and adapt support strategies as needed.
Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Foster the student's social, emotional, and academic development through targeted interventions and activities.
Maintain detailed records of the student's progress and report any concerns or successes to the SENCo and other relevant staff.
Support the student during transitions, breaks, and other non-classroom activities to ensure their well-being and safety.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on the student's progress and addressing any concerns.Requirements:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on supporting children with Autism or other special educational needs.
A solid understanding of Autism and effective strategies for supporting children with this condition.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of children with special educational needs.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).Benefits:
