The Project

As a highly experienced Development Surveyor, you will be playing a crucial role across various housing development developments across Central Scotland, with build values in excess of £50m. You will serve as an integral member of the commercial team, playing a pivotal role in guiding the financial strategy, maintaining cost control and commercial success of the project. Throughout the project, you are required to maintain clear communication with stakeholders and uphold regulatory compliance.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following skills as a minimum;

In-depth understanding of property development processes
Thorough comprehension of planning laws, building regulations, and construction standards

Experience in working with a housing-focused property development firm
Successfully operated on various property development projects with build values in excess of £50m
History of operating within the construction industry, withholding a Development Surveyor position or equivalent with a minimum of 3 yearsThe Role

Procurement
Cost management
Analysis of tender allowances
Cash management and maximization
Assist in the preparation of land appraisals
Support the design process to optimise site value
Attend regular pre-start meetings with contractors
Manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
Identify and address risks related to the development
Handling the legal and financial aspects of land transactions
Confidence in presentation and the skill to lead high level meetings
Creating comprehensive cost estimates and budgets for developments
Create, distribute, and collect tender packages within specified deadlines
Tracking and controlling project expenditures to maintain budgetary adherence
Handle financial transactions, encompassing payment claims and final accounts
Develop and sustain relationships with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders
Collaborating with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project milestones on schedule
Negotiate and finalize accounts in accordance with budgeted expectations, presenting them to relevant parties
Conducting measurements from drawings and other sources for tendering, purchasing, budgeting, and other purposes
Prepare, present, and discuss payment claims with external clients or their representatives within agreed-upon deadlines
