Fantastic new permanent opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a successful and fast-growing data and energy organisation.

The role is very specific around experience and requires someone with a background of business developing around the Mechanical and Electrical sector.

You will have a good technical understanding of electric and multi-utility connection works for both commercial and residential developments.

The role will be fully remote and the sales area to be covered are mainly the South and Midlands, however this can be Nationwide depending on where prospective customers are located – there are no restrictions on territory. You will only be required to attend the office possibly once a month for a team meeting.

The aim of the role is to meet with prospective clients and once gained, to then meet with them as their Account Manager and ensuring a great service is provided. You will be the lead on M&E tendering activities and customer negotiation.

The successful candidate will be a determined and passionate Business Developer who enjoys opening up new business opportunities.

There is also an opportunity to sell other areas of the business group such as data services, metering and EV charges. This will enable you to fulfil and maximise your sales opportunities to achieve a healthy earning potential. Ensuring that monthly sales, margin and KPI targets are met and exceeded.

Working closely with the Estimating and Technical Solution Team, ensuring all proposals and tender packs are value engineered and submitted within agreed timeframes and prepared to a high standard.

You will have the ability to provide detailed win and loss analysis and lessons learned. Effectively create and maintain lasting relationships with M&E customers and engage with key individuals and decision makers to understand their project requirements.

Provide accurate and clear sales and accurate market information to the business.

Skills/experience and attributes required:

* At least two years’ experience as a Business Development Manager

* Experience within the Mechanical and Electrical sector is absolutely essential

* Strong new business sales and presentation skills

* Solid Account Management experience with outstanding customer relationship building skills

* Accurate reporting skills and data analysis experience

* Win and loss analysis experience

* Have the ability to understand the design side of the industry

* Strong problem solving skills

* Organised and able to prioritise work well

* A collaborative team player

* Self-motivated with a confident, friendly and determined nature

* Flexible and adaptable attitude to work

* Precise and professional communication skills, face to face, verbal and written

* Good interpersonal and rapport-building skills

* Remain calm in challenging situations
