Salary: £22.37 per hour.

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Band 7 Financial Management Accountant in which duties will include the production of regular, meaningful financial analysis reports to facilitate effective budgetary control at Directorate level and assisting the Senior Accountant in analysing and evaluating complex problems. The post holder will be required to maintain a detailed understanding of the complex financial environment, the drivers which impact budgetary performance, the interface issues between the complex targets to be delivered against and the actions being taken forward by directorates.

The post-holder will assist the Senior Accountant in undertaking the financial aspects of budget setting, service re-profiling, service developments/retractions and other adhoc financial costings as required. The post-holder will deputise for the Senior Accountant as and when required.

To facilitate Corporate reporting and the development of the monthly reporting of Trust financial performance, the post-holder will be required to work within the Corporate Team within the Financial Management Division when necessary.

Core Responsibilities include:

* Ensure that all relevant service and budget agreements, adjustments and funding for other service developments are accurately reflected within the Directorates budgets in order to maintain accurate financial reporting and effective financial control.

* Provide high quality advice on all financial issues relating to reform, modernisation and efficiency plans, service strategies, service development proposals, cash release efficiency targets and slippage projections within directorates.

* Assist with the production of regular and meaningful income and expenditure information to budget managers, ensuring that variances are clearly identified and reported upon and that forecasts are made available in a clear, understandable format with explanations of assumptions stated.

* Assist the Senior Accountant with the annual budget setting process for the Directorate, making recommendations for change to the budget setting policy.

* Assist in preparing and writing financial performance reports including those that are presented to Trust Board monthly.

* Assist with the provision of management accounting information for inclusion in

* the Trust’s final accounts.

* Liaise with internal and external audit on matters relating to the financial management function as appropriate.

* Ensure that annually all budgets are rolled forward and reconciliations are completed.

* Assist in the development of cash releasing efficiency savings plans, recovery plans and contingency plans for the Directorate.

* Assist with the provision of expert analysis, interpretation and evaluation of financial and non-financial data.

Essential criteria:

* Full membership of one of the five professional accounting institutes within the CCAB, or CIMA

AND

* A minimum of 2 years experience in a senior finance role

* Delivered against challenging financial planning and reporting agendas, meeting a full range of key targets.

* Effective communication skills with a track record of working with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation, to achieve successful outcomes.

* Successfully demonstrated people management, leadership and organisational skills.

* Hold a current full driving licence valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.

* Have understanding and experience of computerised financial systems.

* IT Literacy (proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
