Environmnetal Advisor - Chemicals Manufacturing - Wigan - £35-40k

My client runs a lower-tier COMAH chemicals plant in the Wigan area, specialising in the manufacture of resins and polymers. They're looking for an Environmnetal Advisor to join their safety team, consisting of a Process Safety Manager and a Health & Safety Manager.

The role will take ownership of Environmental related matters for the site, ensuring compliance with government and legal regulations. This is a new role, recently created, for someone to make their own. You will receive support from the Process Safety Manager, and Health & Safety Manager to help the site achieve its' environmental goals.

Some responsibilities are below;

* Identify opportunities to improve the environmental management system

* Provide guidance and support on environmnetal legislation and internal environmental standards

* Responsible for ISO 14001, surveillance audits and recertification audits

* Responsible for developing the environmental strategy and monitoring performance

* Champion environmental improvements via the Asset plan and CAPEX programmes

If you have a keen interest in environmnetal sustainability, and would like to play a key role in shaping the sites environmental roadmap, this could be the role for you. You will need a degree in environmental science or a related degree (chemistry, chemical engineering etc), and some previous experience working in a highly regulated environment.
