About the Role

ADAS, a leading supplier of independent technical, environmental, and farm business advice, is seeking a skilled Agricultural Business Development Specialist to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis in Wigan.

The successful candidate will work alongside other members of staff to enable clients to achieve their overall business objectives by providing independent direction and actions to improve performance on a continual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply skills across a range of farm business management consultancy services, such as strategic planning, farm business reviews, creation of diversified enterprises, and financial analysis and planning.
  • Work with the team to develop skills to analyze problems and provide independent and cost-effective solutions to clients, including technically correct and legally compliant advice.
  • Grow knowledge of the use of the suite of ADAS ALM support tools, including BPS Impact Calculator, Xero, and FM9.
  • Work with a mentor to upskill technical and business knowledge to facilitate development as a consultant, producing technical reports to a good standard with attention to detail.
  • Grow understanding of ADAS ALM and the wider ADAS businesses through completion of online learning and internal networking.

Requirements:

  • Agricultural or business-related qualification to HND or Degree level in a land-based subject area.
  • Previous relevant practical experience in agriculture is preferable but not essential.
  • Good communication skills, both internally and externally, to influence key decision-makers.
  • Consistent work to a high standard with attention to detail.
  • Creative and solution-orientated with a determination to deliver value to the client.
  • Full UK driving license and ability to travel away from home base, including overnight stays, when required.
