As a Financial Accountant, you will engage in various projects aimed at automating key processes, including purchase to pay, fixed assets, inventory, and financial reporting. Joining our new team with a fresh system, your expertise will be vital in building our finance operations and enhancing our financial reporting framework.

Your role will be essential in establishing a robust, scalable, and straightforward financial framework that meets the agility needs of a startup, providing assurance to stakeholders, shareholders, investors, and auditors.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Month-End Process Execution:

Prepare/process general ledger journals across all financial areas, including payroll, accruals, and prepayments.
Correct transactional postings to ensure accurate assignment to cost centres, account codes, projects, and departments.
Analyze the P&L and balance sheet, making necessary adjustments to ensure financial accuracy.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
Transactional Support:

Provide support in Accounts Payable (AP) processing during peak times or when the AP Specialist is on leave.
Group Reporting:

Prepare group reporting packs, including Trial Balance (TB) mapping files.
VAT Return Preparation:

Prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC.
Process Improvement Projects:

Assist the Controller in configuring Microsoft D365 to automate processes and enhance key controls.Skillset & Experience:

Essential:

Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience with experience across various organizational sizes, from large best-practice environments to small startups.
Proven experience in month-end processes and financial reporting, with a track record of delivering accurate monthly numbers on time.
Ability to thrive in environments with rapidly changing priorities and pressure to deliver.
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Capacity to balance immediate urgent tasks with long-term priorities, implementing actions and measures to manage future control requirements.
Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Positive attitude, down-to-earth, and open to feedback.
Strong team player
