We currently have a requirement for an interim Financial Accountant on behalf of a client based in Farnborough Hampshire.

The role is based on site, but the post holder will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis
Role overview

The post holder will play a key role in ensuring that we deliver numbers on time every month and with the highest accuracy.

You will play a key part in ensuring that we get a clean external audit opinion and pass our internal audit with flying colours.

You will get involved in projects that will help us automate our key processes covering the purchase to pay process, fixed asset process, inventory process and financial reporting process.

You would be working with a new team with a new system and the department needs your help to build the finance operation and develop their financial reporting.

The role will be instrumental in ensuring that Business has a framework that is fit for purpose, scalable and simple enough to facilitate the agility required by a startup, providing assurance to all stakeholders including shareholders, investors, and auditors
Key

Responsibilities:

Month-End Process Execution:
Prepare/process general ledger journals for all areas of the financials including payroll, accruals, prepayments.
Fix transactional postings to ensure transactions are assigned to the correct cost centre, account code, project and department.
Analyse the P&L and balance sheet and make adjustments as necessary to ensure our financials are correct.
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
Transactional Support

To keep the operation going you may be required to cover some AP transactional processing if our AP Specialist is on annual leave or where transactional volumes have increased.

Group Reporting
Preparation of group reporting packs (including TB mapping files).
VAT Return Preparation
Preparation of VAT returns and submission to HMRC.

5Process Improvement Projects:
Support the Controller to configure Microsoft D365 in order to automate processes and improve key controls.
Skillset & Experience

Essential:

Qualified, Part qualified or QBE accountant with experience in different sized organisations, from large best-practice to small start-up environments.

Proven experience in month-end processes and financial reporting. Must be able to deliver monthly numbers with high accuracy on time
Experience in an environment where your priorities can change quickly and there is pressure to deliver.
High attention to detail and ability to question and analyse financial data.

Ability to balance immediate, urgent requirements with long term priorities, ensuring actions and measures are put in place well ahead of time to anticipate and manage future control requirements.

Ability to work flexibly and handle multiple tasks.
Positive attitude, down-to-earth, and open to feedback.
