The School:

This creative special school in Islington provides alternative education through a Performing Arts and Media curriculum. Now housed in a brand new building at the heart of North London's Tech City area, facilities have been purpose built to offer a range of high specification specialist teaching spaces including a Theatre, Dance Studio, Recording Studio, Music Technology Suites, Film and Photography Studios. They believe that education has the power not only to enrich lives, but to transform them. Their curriculum is designed to ignite a love of learning and ensure students experience an individualised approach which enables them to grow and flourish as emerging professionals within a culture of creativity and collaboration.

The role:

Supporting students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
Encouraging and promoting student engagement in learning activities
Contributing to support plans and strategies to meet the needs of each student
Collaborating with staff, parents/carers, and outside agencies
Monitoring and recording student progress and achievements

As an SEND Learning Support Assistant you will need:

Experience of supporting young people
A degree or work experience within a creative subject would be ideal (not essential)
Open-minded, positive and friendly approach
A caring and professional manner
