Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide essential academic support and personal care to students with complex needs in Islington.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in the classroom, helping students with complex needs in their learning and development.
  • Provide personal care to students, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Support students individually or in small groups to achieve their specific learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and document student progress.
  • Promote the social and emotional well-being of students, assisting them in developing vital life skills.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children with complex needs is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, healthcare, childcare, or special educational needs are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience in providing personal care.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
