Material Inventory Controller

Alma Personnel have been in instructed by their trusted long term client to recruit for an experienced Material Controller to be based out of their site on Coventry.

The role of Material Controller is key to the success of the business, providing leadership, direction and clear focus on planning, production, control and shipping and receiving materials control functions, ensuring the right material arrives on time every time, whilst ensuring inventory levels are kept to a minimum in line with set targets.

Key tasks :-

* Take the necessary action when it comes to shortage and materials at risk reports on a daily basis.

* Replenish materials pulling in kit as and when required and feed back to Logistics Manager

* Contact suppliers regarding any overdue reports

* Provide assistance to purchasing to implement inventory improvement policies

* Control level of inventory, sequencing/improved packaging etc.

* Work in conjunction with the transport coordinator at arrange transport as and when needed

* Carry out inventory checks on high value and critical components ensuring continuity of supply

* Take the lead in representing the department in production meetings, stock availability and accuracy.

* Investigate an cause of shortages and liaise with the Lean Team and other effected areas of the business

* Work closely with key suppliers to manage stock risks and monitor lead times

* Engage with departments in Engineering, Projects, Quality and Production to ensure zero obsolescence

* 5S audit work

* Adhere to H&S

To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous material control experience and a good understanding of MRP. Good project management skills, including the ability to produce and work to set timing plans. Have a good understanding of modern material control practices and processes.

Be able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels internally and externally. So being a logically thinker would definitely assist you carrying out your daily tasks.

Be a team player, self motivated and support and motivate your colleagues.

Salary being offered is upto £33K depending on experience plus a host of excellent company benefits.
