A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Hemel Hempstead, is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their committed team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional learning needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to provide targeted support for pupils with a variety of learning difficulties. This role is vital in helping the pupils achieve their full potential within a caring and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Individual Support: Provide one-on-one support for pupils with learning difficulties, helping them to access the curriculum effectively.
Group Work: Assist in small group activities, offering support and guidance to ensure all pupils can participate and benefit from lessons.
Collaboration: Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to plan and deliver appropriate interventions and support strategies.
Classroom Support: Assist with general classroom activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment for all students.
Monitoring Progress: Track and report on the progress of pupils, identifying areas where additional support may be needed.
Communication: Maintain regular communication with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to each child's education.
Resource Development: Help develop and adapt teaching materials to meet the specific needs of pupils.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably within a primary school.
A genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Desirable:

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent qualification.
Experience in delivering specific interventions, such as literacy and numeracy support.
Knowledge of specific learning difficulties such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyslexia, and Speech and Language difficulties.
