They deliver projects ranging from designing ESG systems and building ESG capacity to managing ESG risk on multi-billion-dollar developments and supporting reforestation efforts. The firm's innovative work includes designing community investment funds and supporting large-scale reforestation projects.Role Overview Our client is seeking to expand their delivery team by recruiting a Senior Consultant with a focus on biodiversity. The ideal candidate will have a relevant background and experience in addressing ESG risks and opportunities on international projects. This role requires a self-starter who can support both project delivery and business development.Experience & Skills Required5-10 years in a similar role working on international biodiversity projectsUndergraduate degree in environmental, biological, biophysical, or social sciences (post-graduate degree preferred but not essential)Deep understanding of key global biodiversity frameworks, global goals and key biodiversity standardsStrong technical background and project delivery in ecological services, terrestrial and/or marine biodiversity, and/or ecosystem servicesSupported development projects in the application of the mitigation hierarchy, and design and delivery of biodiversity assessment and mitigation services with the aim of achieving no net loss/net gain for biodiversityTechnical SkillsStrong project manager that can take ownership of projects, managing project teams, timelines and deliverables ensuring successful project execution and exceeding client expectationsCarrying out or playing a lead support role in site-based biodiversity surveys and assessments for international projects (including but not limited to ecological surveys, critical habitat assessments, biodiversity impact assessments, biodiversity management and monitoring plans, biodiversity action plans)Working with and applying major biodiversity safeguards and standards, such as IFC Performance Standard 6 and the Equator Principles and/or working with and applying major biodiversity reporting standards (e.g. TNFD, CSRD, SBTN, etc)About UsClimate17 is a purpose-led, international Renewable Energy & Sustainability recruitment firm.
