Operating a renowned global motorsport business with state-of-the-art facilities at home and winning performances around the globe, M-Sport UK provide the engineering expertise behind an award-winning range of competition cars and has become an industry leader with success across some of the industry’s most acclaimed motorsport series.

The drive to deliver championship-winning machinery is what excites and strengthens our engineering team; and the key to our continuing success starts with you having influence throughout the core procedures of all our vehicles – from concepts and original designs, to running test programmes and defining the means to enhance maximum performance.

We love what we do, and passion drives our success.

THE ROLE

We’re looking to appoint a Senior Rally1 Engineer to oversee technical support and development of our WRC Rally1 Team. Extracting maximum performance from our competition entry cars, the Senior Rally1 Engineer will be at the very core of the team, by providing detailed diagnosis alongside innovative development to the very highest standard whilst playing a pivotal role in future success.

The role and responsibilities include:

  • Delivering innovative engineering solutions from initial concepts through to production.

  • Providing technical support and playing a lead role on WRC events.

  • Ensure the competition car complies with FIA technical regulations.

  • Mentoring and leading a team of Engineers both at the event and back at the factory.

  • Creating high quality technical documentations and details of technical upgrades.

  • Identifying potential performance or reliability improvements.

  • Managing the teams’ workloads to meet deadlines.

  • Providing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve the competition cars performance.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a self-motivated team player working together with an enthusiastic and positive can-do attitude – whilst sharing the determination to deliver the very best results.

You should be educated to either a MEng or BEng degree level in Motorsport or Automotive Engineering and have a thorough understanding of motor vehicles and their systems.

Knowledge of the latest manufacturing techniques and materials is essential.

You should have experience of data logging and analysis software and be confident in delivering a consistently high level of performance and quality in a time-sensitive environment.

You should be well organised, and delivery focused, with a strong analytical approach and meticulous attention to detail.

You should be able to produce technical documents and have excellent interpersonal skills – capable of building strong relationships while always offering a professional image.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar chassis engineering role in the motorsport industry. This can include: Rallying or Racing.

Situated on the edge of the English Lake District National Park, M-Sport UK is unique in offering the fast-paced, adrenaline-fuelled action expected from a career in International Motorsport mere minutes from the tranquillity of the Lakeland fells and all they have to offer in terms of recreation and wellbeing.
