As the Director of AHP's and Health Science, you will lead a talented and dedicated team in delivering high-quality services within your portfolio.


In addition, the Director will provide leadership for the Mental Health & Learning Disabilities teams, ensuring discharge and delivery of services to meet statutory duties and driving forward strategic thinking and planning.


Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of Allied Health Professionals and Health Sciences, and ensuring the provision of effective and patient-centred care.


Professional leadership for Allied Health Professionals and Health Scientists
Clinical Governance
Regulatory Leadership - Radiation, Blood Products, Medical Devices
Leadership and Management of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities

Ensure the Health Boards is compliant with all statutory duties relevant to AHP's, health science, and mental health services.
Develop, implement and evaluate AHP and health science strategies that ensure developments across the full spectrum of health and social care reflect the therapy and health science contributions and align with Welsh Government policies
Ensure that AHP and scientific staff work within a clearly defined clinical governance and management framework.
Enable AHP and scientific staff to contribute fully to the shift of emphasis from in-hospital to community based care in partnership with other agencies where appropriate.
Create an environment in which excellence, research and development, public protection and patient safety can flourish to meet the challenges of the 21st Century.

Educated to Masters Level and with current HCPC registration, the successful candidate will demonstrate professional credibility at Board level, and a commitment to continuous improvement through education, research and Audit.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is the largest health organisation in Wales, with a budget of 1.The Health Board providesprimary, community, mental health and acute hospital services for the population of North Wales.


BCUHB provides a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and specialist hospital services across 3 acute hospitals, 22 communityhospitals and a network of over 90 healthcentres, clinics, community health team bases and mental health units. BCUHB alsocoordinates or provides the work of 96 GP practices andthe NHS services provided by 78 dental and orthodontic practices, 70 optometry practices and opticians and 145 pharmacies in North Wales.
