Job Description

HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Limited is part of a leading international civil engineering company specialising in complex markets including Tunnelling, Building, Civil and Structural Engineering.

We are looking for an Estimator to join our head office team.

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate pricing for tenders and supporting clients with pricing for Early Contractor Involvement projects.

The role will include:

  • Collaborating with Planners, Bid & Design Managers on methods and outputs for key activities
  • Advising on the most competitive pricing of design options and pricing alternative solutions
  • Advising Bid Managers on the sufficiency of client activity schedules and arranging for full quantity take of or checking
  • Preparing price estimates for tenders or budget pricing to include People, Plant, Subcontract packages, Temporary Works, Risk, Final Settlement, Submission and Handover.

You will need to have:

  • At least 10 years experience within civil engineering construction
  • A thorough knowledge of the UK construction industry.
  • A commercial awareness of different forms of contract
  • An understanding of relevant procurement legislation

You are also likely to have a degree in civil engineering or other engineering qualification and will be a very effective communicator at all levels internally and externally.

We offer a competitive remuneration package which includes base salary, 25 (pro rata) days holiday entitlement (plus bank holidays), contributory pension and private health care schemes.
