As a Senior Power Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of a variety of DC-DC (1000 VDC) and AC-DC converters within kilowatt ranges for applications in Aerospace, Automotive, and Defense.


Your role will involve collaborating with clients to comprehend and finalize technical specifications. You will utilize simulations to design and develop DC-DC, AC-DC, and DC-AC power converters, followed by generating schematic captures, PCB layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).


Key responsibilities include conducting Design DVT and validation, creating documentation for the transition from engineering to production, and engaging in proposals, project cost estimations, Statements of Work (SOWs), and necessary documentation.


You will also support released designs and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring that products are designed, specified, and tested to meet regulatory standards, including EMC, Environmental, Shock, Vibration, Surges, and Safety requirements.


Collaboration with key stakeholders in cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, CAD, mechanical design, and PCB layout engineers, will be essential.


Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.


Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with voltages up to 1000 VDC and AC mains, along with a solid understanding of safety standards for power converters.


Proficiency in the analysis and simulation of power electronics systems using tools such as Matlab and PSpice is required.


Experience in high-reliability design, including redundancy and fault tolerance, is essential, as well as the ability to implement fault sensing and protection, thermal management, and control systems.


Familiarity with SiC MOSFET characteristics, proven testing and debugging skills, and a comprehensive understanding of electronic components and board-level electronics are necessary.


Experience with environmental and regulatory approvals testing, as well as a solid grasp of power electronic circuit topologies such as buck, boost, flyback, and PFCs, is highly desirable.


Additional skills include digital PSU design, schematic production using Altium or PADs, PCB design capabilities, and knowledge of gate driver design.


Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGA design, as well as standards compliance for CA/CE Marking, Safety; UL; CB; EN62368, EN Functional safety, ASIL ratings, and ISO26262 standards, will be advantageous.
