Robert Walters are excited to be partnering with a global manufacturer in their search for an Assistant Financial Controller to join their Greater Manchester office on a permanent basis. Based in Wythenshawe, this role would suit an individual who has recently qualified within an accountancy practice and looking to move into industry. Our client is offering a position that is incredibly multi-disciplinary in the sense that this role will offer the right individual a solid foundation in financial accounting, with additional exposure to commercial finance and projects. The role will manage the entirety of the day-to-day finance function to gain a comprehensive overview as to how a business works. The role will report into the Financial Controller but will have a high amount of interaction with management and sales teams across all business units in the Group.
Review and maintenance of the risk register
Review of KPIs (stock / credit control / margins / overheads / channels)
Review of month end files (in Excel)
Review of month end reconciliations files
Review of overheads analysis
Signing off credit notes, rebates and warranty claims
Sustaining and utilising relationship with key contacts at the bank
Managing technical accounting issues
Controls / governance (oversee internal audit function) plus treasury and tax
Liaising with external auditors and leading the audit process
Commercial finance (pricing excellence and proposals) including exposure to key account customers
Projects such as e.g. working capital optimisation and mergers/acquisition activity, where relevant
Line management of the Finance Team, including setting and reviewing objectives, managing performance, appraisals and development
Newly ACA Qualified within a practice organisation
Strong financial knowledge and experience, with a proven track record in dealing with large volumes of projects to deadlines
Ability to articulate / present ideas, together with a high level of IT knowledge (Excel)
