Our engineering client is currently looking for a Health and Safety Manager.

As the HSE Manager you will take the lead on the management of the company's HSE policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Providing a quality HSE service to the business ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all employees, customers and contractors in adherence to set timelines.
  2. Carrying out HSEQ reviews and audits.
  3. Ensuring safe systems of work.
  4. Promoting best practice / positive safety culture within the workplace and ensuring compliance with company policy / systems / legislation.
  5. Organising and managing investigations and reports following accidents, serious incidents etc. and ensuring that actions agreed to prevent recurrence are implemented.
  6. Carrying out health and safety audits on site where projects are taking place (every 2 weeks depending on projects).

Person Specification:

  1. A recognised HSE qualification e.g. NEBOSH.
  2. Experience of being factory based is essential with construction experience being advantageous.
  3. Experienced in a Health and Safety role or a role with exposure to the development of safety risk assessments and safe systems of work and associated controls.
  4. Analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical information.
  5. Strong attention to detail.
  6. Proactive approach with the ability to identify potential HSE issues.
  7. Excellent inter-personal/communication skills, strong relationship builder and team-player with the ability to challenge at all levels on HSE issues.

Notes:

  1. This role may include local and national travel.
  2. Driving licence is essential.

Hours of Operation:

Monday to Thursday 08:30 - 17:30 and Friday 08:30 - 15:30.
