Advanced Clinical Practitioner- Acute Medical Unit/Same Day Emergency

An exciting post has become available for a qualified ACP on our Acute Medical Unit and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)Unit. We are looking to appoint a dynamic enthusiastic practitioner into this post to help us in delivering our goal of delivering outstanding care and treatment to the community of Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde.
The successful candidate will join our established team of ACPs and will work long side the large MDT in delivering care across the acute medical footprint. This post holder will work within the 4 pillars of advanced practice to drive our services forward and deliver the best in NHS care.
The acute medical services are delivered across 3 areas the AMU department which is a 35 bedded unit treating all range of medical presentations. The second area is the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) The short stay ward. The post holder will be responsible for deliver care and treatment in both of these areas as patient demands change. Due to Blackpool's convenient location, Edinburgh in the north and London in the south can be reached within three hours by train. Job description Job responsibilities The post holder will be an independent practitioner working within the larger multi-disciplinary team (MDT). The MDT consists of the nursing, medical, pharmacy and IAT among others. The main responsibilities will be to direct patient care and treatment to ensure excellent services are provided to the patients. A large element of the role is service improvement and quality improvement initiatives to advance (s) our services forward. The post holder will be comfortable with change management and have a proven record of service development and or redesign within their portfolio. Person Specification Qualifications Essential
- 1st Level Degree
- Teaching & Assessing qualification
- MSc in Advanced Practice
- Post Registration in Speciality
- non medical prescriber
- Management Qualification
- Leadership course
- advanced life support
- Significant post registration experience in the speciality, ideally 5 years
- Clinical credibility - regarded as a successful clinician by peers or supervisors
- Experience of managing own case load, including the assessment of patients, ordering diagnostics
- Understanding of the role of research and development activities upon Clinical Effectiveness
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of the current issues affecting NHS services including Clinical Governance and the NHS Plan
- Development of protocols and clinical guidelines
- Leadership in quality initiatives such as clinical benchmarking
- proven quality improvement experience
- Teaching and presenting lectures to staff
- Experience in completing and presenting research
- experience of presenting at conferences
