What you'll be doing: As Business Development Manager in our Maidstone branch, you'll build meaningful relationships with a designated panel of key brokers. You'll take ownership for generating profitable business. You'll develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities. You'll plan, forecast and set operational targets, supporting us to achieve AXA Commercial's strategic development plan.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at our Maidstone office, visiting brokers or attending industry events. Your brokers are based in Kent, Sussex and Surrey. Occasional travel to London.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable sales and negotiation skills, proven ability to succeed in a target driven environment – essential.
  • Technical Insurance or Financial Services background in a consumer-oriented environment – preferred.
  • Networking and relationship building skills.
  • Knowledge of underwriting and risk management principles.
  • Mid-market knowledge and generation experience.
  • ACII qualification or equivalent – beneficial.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
