This is a technical sales position with responsibility for promoting and increasing the direct sales revenues of TSI’s Test and Measurement product range. The sales area covered is Middle England, Midlands. Under limited supervision (self-starter), the Direct Sales Specialist implements actions arising from sales strategies and tactics for the assigned region to achieve sales volumes consistent with business goals. The Direct Sales Specialist provides the TSI customer with solutions that ensure customer satisfaction and continuing revenues.
The job will also require assisting the Senior Regional Sales Manager in the support of our distributed sales channels, specifically, existing Channel Partners (CPs) will require support with customer demonstrations and market feedback. New and existing CPs require support through product and application training. Timing of this appointment is critical to the effective implementation of the UK & Ireland Test & Measurement sales strategy.
Implements actions arising from sales plans to achieve sales volumes in the assigned region (Midlands) consistent with annual business goals.
Takes proactive action to prospect for sales leads, by knowing all of the TSI T&M Products, the potential markets and their unique selling points.
Gives company overview or technical/product presentations at various organizations and conferences. Gives effective, solutions-oriented sales presentations and product demonstrations as required to secure orders for TSI. Attends appropriate conferences and trade shows to promote TSI’s interests.
Provides market input to product marketing.
Maintains and increases knowledge of TSI research & development, for customer applications and the latest technical advances within industry.
Travels 50-70% to meet with customers and prospects as required within the assigned region.
Forecasts monthly and performs other administrative tasks and special projects as required.
contributes to the creation of all field materials including brochures, data sheets, and other marketing collateral.
Work closely with product marketing to ensure the effective use of sales.
Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience and proven success with direct sales of technical products, in markets requiring an understanding of customer applications and technical requirements.
Experience with direct sales to the Manufacturing Industry, Healthcare facilities, Emergency Response, and/or personnel with Health & Safety and Occupational Hygiene backgrounds.
Has completed or will complete within six months, TSI sales skills and process training programs.
Entrepreneurial attitude towards the sales process; Evidence of positive sales track record.
Working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) software for managing prospects and for generating leads.
Highly skilled in making presentations to audiences of different participants and size (potential channel partners, sales staff, technical staff and non-technical professionals).
Proven ability to excel in a cross-functional team environment.
Demonstrated ability to execute on multiple projects and excel in a results-oriented work environment.
Strong working knowledge of MS office applications.
