What You’ll Do

As a Financial Controller at Thrive, you will play a crucial role in shaping our financial strategy and operations. You will be responsible for overseeing our financial systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing accurate financial reports that will drive our business decisions.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyse financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of Thrive Learning’s financial status.
  • Develop and maintain existing budgets and forecasts, including revenue and expense projections, and track actual results against those projections.
  • Manage the company's accounting and financial systems, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations and coordinate with external accountants and auditors to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments and senior management to provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Work closely with the CFO to develop financial strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
What we’re looking for Essential skills
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred but QBE also considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years in a financial control or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and senior management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
Desirableskills
  • Experience working in a SaaS organisation
  • Experience using a wide range of modern accounting systems
  • An ambitious mindset and drive to improve and streamline existing systems and processes.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment preferred.
