Job Role:

Inclusion Admin Officer:

To provide support in a variety of ways (computer based and administrative) to ensure that the inclusion teams (SEND, SDS and Safeguarding) at school run smoothly and efficiently. This is a strategic position demanding a high degree of accuracy and dealing with a wide range of people, often requiring tact, sensitivity and confidentiality.

IER Administrator: To supervise pupils in an Internal Exclusion Room, ensuring systems are followed, work provided and records updated as appropriate. To further support the Main Office with administrative tasks.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Inclusion Admin Officer:

To be responsible for the maintenance of a range of data for pupils with whom the departments work, producing regular and ad-hoc reports as required, using SIMS and other software, such as My Concern and CPOMS.

To carry out other duties using word-processing, spreadsheets and general admin in a proactive manner - minutes of meetings, letters, telephone calls etc,

To be a contact between the school and families/external agencies, taking messages, arranging meetings etc. and to liaise with other areas of the school.

To take notes at meetings.

To be responsible for the distribution of information to the rest of the school.

To ensure that resources and stock are kept to a required level, and ordered as appropriate.

Other office duties as and when required; photocopying, answering the phone etc.

To carry out any other duties in accordance with the grade of the job as and when required.

IER Administrator:

To supervise pupils who have been internally excluded and directed to the IER, including:

- The supervision of pre-prepared work that has been set by staff

- The management of pupil behaviour on entering and leaving the IER and during the sessions, establishing a purposeful working environment.

- Dealing with, and reporting, any immediate issues or emergences.

To maintain records regarding all school exclusions, collating and providing data for whole school use.

To report back to relevant staff, as appropriate, on the behaviour of pupils directed to the IER and any issues arising, following IER procedures and systems.

To carry out any other duties in accordance with the grade of the job as and when required.

All members of the administrative support staff and IER are expected to undertake first aid training. As a member of a House or Year team Under the Guidance and direction of the Head of House (Years 7 - 11) or Head of Year (6th form), to:

get to know the pupils well

get to know families well through regular contact, sharing successes and participating in Meet Your Coach / Tutor days.

plan sessions, reading through guidance notes in advance

develop skills in facilitating a coaching circle

promote high standards of work, behaviour, attendance and punctuality from members of the Coaching / Tutor Group

keep an accurate and up-to-date register following school guidance re. attendance and punctuality

write reports as required

prepare initial drafts for references, testimonials and reports to outside agencies, as appropriate

teach the CPSHE programme as required

attend assemblies with the group and supervise their arrival, behaviour and departure

participate in Head of House / Head of Year meetings.
