What You’ll Do

As a Senior Heritage Consultant, you’ll work on a variety of exciting and challenging projects, supporting our clients in achieving their goals. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Site Assessments : Visit sites to evaluate building fabric, historic settings, and heritage significance.
  • Research and Documentation : Conduct archival research, perform photographic surveys, and deliver thorough, industry-leading assessments of significance.
  • Report Writing : Prepare high-quality, evidence-led reports, including heritage statements, setting assessments, and conservation area appraisals, effectively communicating each project's narrative.
  • Client and Stakeholder Collaboration : Liaise with clients, government authorities, and stakeholders to ensure projects align with policy and best practices.
  • Team Development : Mentor and support junior team members, helping them develop into skilled and confident heritage professionals.

What You Bring

  • Qualifications : IHBC membership or equivalent qualification.
  • Expertise : At least five years of practical experience with UK historic buildings, architectural styles, and heritage conservation.
  • Report Writing : Outstanding ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate reports, such as Heritage Statements, HTVIAs, Historic Building Recordings, and appeal statements.
  • Policy Knowledge : Strong understanding of the National Planning Policy Framework and Historic England guidance.
  • Business Acumen : Proven track record in preparing fee proposals and tenders.
