You will work with the Head of Sustainability Engineering, tobring the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Engineering Team, and the widerbusiness, into the future – using data to record, analyse and predictand thus creating an automated data process which forecasts andcreates trends and pertinent business insights. To this will requirethe investigation, selection, and introduction of new datatechnologies, such as automated data capture and AI, and effectivecoordination with the smart manufacturing team (Automation and Tech)to ensure all pertinent environmental reporting requirements arecaptured and included. Additionally, you will work with the SAPreplacement team, and the ESG Hub to ensure that data is suitableincluded and ready for any tracking, assurance, and processmanagement.

More broadly, you will coordinate all activitieswith regards to reporting and data assurance for GSC, leading a teamof SME’s who delivering reporting and metering projects across theorganisation. You’ll proactively engage with Strategy and other partsof the business to understand impacts and direct/advise on thesustainability work of the team accordingly. You will understand allthe GSC plans for sustainability and create the strategic capital planrequired to 2030., so you must ensure to design processes whichreliably update data and reporting automatically and enablecommunication of these to senior stakeholders in a way which enablesand empowers future technologies, decisions and innovation. As such,you will be responsible to challenge the rest of the team to look atfuture technologies and innovation and coordinates effort accordingly.

In this role you will:

  • Supportglobal GSK Engineering and EHS leadership teams with identification ofautomated data gathering solutions and the subsequent implementationof these.
  • Ensure the fully realised data sets are availablefor key sustainability topics: carbon, water, waste, and biodiversity.
  • Define innovative technologies and create strategic capitalrequirements across GSC to achieve our 2030 sustainability ambitions.
  • Take on various forms of leadership, including linemanagement, training leadership, and thought leadership as you buildcommunities of practice across multi-site, multi-function teams.
  • Develop and maintain communicative relationships across variousstakeholders and teams (e.g., ESG Hub, R&D, Eco-Design, procurement,third party companies etc.) which enable support and sponsorship forprogramme implementation.
  • Investigate, articulate, andprepare business cases for new technologies which you willsubsequently install and implement. This will include partnership withTech and Automation teams to ensure automated data gathering solutionsfor environmental data are embedded in smart manufacturing practice.
  • Use data automation to forecast and create trends andbusiness insights.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these requiredskills to achieve our goals:

  • Qualified to degree levelin an Engineering discipline.
  • Prior experience inpharmaceutical manufacturing site operations, ideally with amulti-functional perspective
  • Significant experience in dataanalysis and presentation of data led business insights.
  • Experience in creating and overseeing the execution of a innovativeprogramme of multi-site site activity, realizing proven benefitsincluding collaboration with senior and practitioner stakeholders bothat and above site.
  • Prior experience identifying newtechnologies and breakthrough opportunities to drive a step change insustainability.
  • Experience leading multi-functionalworkshops for training and process development.
  • Experiencein project and programme planning, management, and execution –specifically as applied to improvement projects.
  • Previousexperience working with a diverse population – including differentcountries, cultures, functions, and communication styles.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Engineering,Environmental or EHS professional qualification or certification
  • Previous experience in implementing company level strategies,particularly those in Sustainability and pertaining to Global SupplyChains
  • Experience of GPS and its applications.
  • Specialist knowledge of sustainability practices and techniques,leading to expert knowledge of sustainability data reporting at acorporate level
  • Strong team working, influencing andleadership skills.
  • Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills
