**Background**

At The National Lottery Community Fund we believe that innovation is the key to addressing complex challenges and creating transformative change. To support the implementation of our new strategy we are excited to announce the creation of a dedicated Innovation Team. This 2-year fixed-term team will be the driving force behind our commitment to Innovation, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

**Job description**:
**Why an Innovation Team?**

Our organisation comprises diverse Directorates, each with unique objectives all brought together under one fund. The varied nature of our work demands different approaches for success. However, our current capacity to identify, adapt, and implement these diverse strategies is significantly limited. Sharing effective approaches across the Fund and ensuring their successful integration is a challenge, given the demands on staff time. This is why we need an Innovation Team.

**What's the Goal?**

Our Innovation Team will provide the much-needed additional capacity to support our portfolios. We will identify where innovation is needed within each mission area and develop the tools, methods, and ways of working that promote sustainable and equitable social innovation. This team's purpose is clear - to drive transformative change within our organisation and in the communities we serve.

**The Structure of the Innovation Team**

Our Innovation Team will consist of a dynamic group of individuals with a diverse set of skills and expertise. This multidisciplinary approach will empower us to address complex challenges from various angles. Here is a glimpse of the roles within the team:
**Two Heads of Innovation**

Rest of UK: £46,000- £56,000 : London: £50,638 - £61,600

As the visionary leaders of our Innovation Team, the Heads of Innovation will set the tone and lead on our initiatives. Their responsibilities will include:

- Leading the design and implementation of new solutions that drive conceptual, process, and organisational change.
- Developing strategies and interventions for system change.
- Realising innovative solutions that create scalable and systemic impact. Building and facilitating partnerships and coalitions both inside and outside of the organisation. Leading into a complex and uncertain future by embracing a culture of continuous learning.

You’ll need to demonstrate your experience and/ or qualifications in the following criteria:

- The ability to diagnose complex sustainability challenges using a range of frameworks and approaches.
- Designing system change strategies and interventions.
- Developing and realising innovative solutions that seek to create scalable and systemic impact.
- Collaboration and engagement — wide experience of initiating, building and facilitating partnerships and coalitions for change.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to quickly develop recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative evidence

**Four Innovation Managers**

Rest of UK: £32,524- £41,000: London: £35,777 - £44,384

Managers will work closely with the Heads of Innovation to implement innovation strategies across our diverse Directorates and build on our understanding of the wider communities we work within. Their roles will encompass:

- Diagnosing complex sustainability challenges using systemic approaches.
- Designing system change strategies and interventions.
- Developing and realising innovative solutions.
- Seeking, initiating, building, and facilitating partnerships and coalitions for change.
- Leading and learning in a rapidly evolving landscape

You’ll need to demonstrate your experience and/ or qualifications in the following criteria:

- Significant experience of development funding and programme approaches, or something similar.
- Policy analysis skills, experience in producing policy briefings and in disseminating practice/evidence widely, in areas of interest to the Fund,
- Practical experience of delivering development projects with experience of participatory approaches and strong communications skills that are matched to audiences
- Extensive experience in convening knowledge-sharing events and issue-based roundtables, and in delivering training
- Advanced analytical, and written and verbal communication skills
