Role Summary:

This is a key strategic position that will be responsible for the further development and execution of training of the field sales teams within Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Working closely with the sales, marketing, medical and market access management teams, building on the foundations that are established in our new starter training program.

This position will drive and execute the delivery and development of customer facing sales personnel by collaborating with commercial stakeholders and delivering necessary training based on aligned needs, as well as leading assigned projects across the Training Department. It will be necessary for this position to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders as well as external partners and is a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate to come in and build on the foundations of the training platform to take our sales teams to the next level of performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Conduct initial assessment of field teams to determine knowledge gap.
  • Support the design of content for core curriculum in collaboration with respective SME's.
  • Support the execution of selling skills models to employees to enable greater achievement of business objectives.
  • Reinforce training material through one-on-one coaching, role plays, attending sales appointments.
  • Develop, coach, and support new and established field members to ensure commercial success.
  • Produce detailed training reports & recommendations to improve the overall sales performance.
  • Measure effectiveness of programs through field feedback; develop plans to address concerns and support the implementation of solutions.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure training objectives are met with consistency and follow the commercial training strategy.
  • Keep updated with the knowledge and skills on effective adult training techniques and sales models, then advise field deployment methods depending on content and learning objectives (e.g. Digital training - Self-learning / Instructor led / Coaching...)
  • Support and implement training effectiveness and impact measurement programs.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement training and field adoption strategies, convert these into tactical roll-out plans, and deliver results
  • Excellent coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Extensive knowledge of own area within the organization while contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
  • Extensive understanding of related aspects of sales training processes and/or systems.
  • Proven business acumen and working knowledge of a dynamic medical device market environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex information internally and externally with diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor degree level with 6-8 years work experience.
  • Minimum 3 year-experience in the medical device industry.
  • Minimum 2 years recent experience of working in sales training
  • Excellent knowledge of the medical device environment, diabetes-related is a strong advantage.
  • Previous sales and/or marketing experience preferred.
  • Certifications (DiSC, Strengths, Situational Leadership, Integrity Selling)
  • Ability to travel frequently.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university

Travel Required:

  • 50 - 70 %

Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in English and in German. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Although not mandatory language skills in German and Italian is highly desirable.

  • The workplace type for this role is remote in Germany, meaning that it can be home based with onsite work as needed for project activities.
