Callerton Academy is an exciting and thriving new secondary school where staff are highly valued and invested in to be able to become exceptional practitioners. Inspected in January 2024, the school was awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted citing that our students are well behaved and that our curriculum is highly ambitious and inclusive. As a school we are committed to providing the very best education for pupils from Year 7 to Year 11. Based in our excellent temporary site, formerly a school building which has been reconfigured in Newcastle’s Graingertown, we have access to a range of brilliant facilities. We will move to our brand-new site which will have capacity for 1200 students in 2025; this is located to the northwest of the city – close to Westerhope, Kingston Park and Newcastle International Airport. We are one of two new schools within Gosforth Group Multi Academy Trust and will be welcoming our fourth cohort of students when the position starts meaning that we will have Years 7, 8, 9 and 10.

About the role

We are seeking a PA to the Principal to join the Support Staff team at Callerton Academy. You will provide a key role in supporting the Principal, including providing ‘secretarial’ duties such as diary management and liaising with member of the MAT’s governance. You should have a ‘good’ general education and experience of working in an Academy would be advantageous.

  • Previous experience of working in a school environment is desirable but not essential

  • Excellent ICT skills, ideally with a good working knowledge of SIMS and other school-based software.
