Summary 

As the Principal Architect (PA) you will play a key role on at 360insights, you and your team will define the architecture of the 360 platform. Your responsibilities include establishing, updating, and maintaining the SaaS platform architecture to ensure that the 360 platform is designed for scale, security, and extensibility. 

In your role as the PA, you will play a crucial part in the platforming of the 360 enterprise systems, ensuring the presence of short, medium, and long-term architectural plans and deliverables. 

The PA is accountable for the communication of the architecture to teams utilizing the architecture in the development of 360 platform. Additionally, the PA is responsible for overseeing the architectural standards and practices employed by the teams in defining and delivering the platform. 

Drawing input from technology discipline leaders (product, infrastructure, security, , the PA will formulate the architectural strategy, tactics, standards, and communications to ensure that delivery teams receive the necessary architectural guidance for successfully delivering the platform. 

The PA's duties also encompass maintaining, communicating, and fostering alignment in the architectural blueprint and vision within the 360 organization. 

Responsibilities 

Refine and communicate a comprehensive architectural vision for the unified SaaS platform. Lead, develop and coach a team of architects in the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Collaboration with the technology delivery teams to design solutions in line with the stated architecture to ensure solution design achieves stated goals related to features, flexibility, scale and security. Leverage industry trends, innovations, emerging technologies, and best practices in the design of the platform (. microservices, AWS cloud native serverless computing, Creation of data, application and infrastructure architectures and business intelligence strategies, blueprints and architectural standards and guidelines Apply governance processes to ensure portfolio alignment and compliance with company information standards. Direct contribution to delivery planning; working closely with product management, development management, delivery management to ensure a pragmatic, optimized and accelerated path forward for solution delivery. Rationalization of the multiple technologies into a cohesive optimized platform design Continued advancement of architectural competency and effectiveness of the architecture team Partnering with product management team to providing strategic insight and contribution to the product development strategies Contributing critical insight to vendor and technology selection decisions by executive leadership. Strong, clear, concise communication across the business and technical community to detail the architectural direction, options, deliverables, and timing.

Skills and Experience 

10 years’ experience driving architecture design in a software product development environment, with at least 3 years in a people leadership role. 5 years’ experience in an Architecture leadership position (ideally in a SaaS company) Expertise in:cloud technologies (serverless compute, storage, networking, security)microservices (breakdown monolithic applications into services)cloud security best practices (encryption, IAM, network)monitoring and logging Experience with AWS cloud technology an asset (AWS accreditations also an asset) Strong knowledge of security principles and experience implementing security measures in a SaaS environment Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Experience in an agile product development environment as a software architect. Ability to lead reverse engineering of current state based on existing legacy data models. Experience with systems that are both B2B and B2C, with high transactional volumes would be ideal. Historical experience as a software developer Experience working with Scaled Agile Scrum development teams. Experience collaborating with Product Management teams. Experience with transactional system architecture. Excellent communication skills including ability to convey complex architectural concepts to business and product management teams. Experience working on financial systems and asset.
