The Role We Are Recruiting For

At Computer Care UK LTD, we are currently seeking a Senior 2nd Line Onsite Engineer to join our team, based at one of our high-profile clients, Crystal Palace Football Club in South London. This role is integral to our mission of providing exceptional IT services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • High-End Support: Provide high-end support to Crystal Palace Football Club members of staff, both remote and on-site, across the main stadium and the training ground.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Maintain parts of the infrastructure, carrying out proactive maintenance tasks and performing reactive maintenance where required.
  • Project Assistance: Assist with projects, playing a role in designing, implementing, supporting, and documenting new solutions.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, showing them how to perform basic processes and procedures, and acting as a senior escalation point.
  • Match Day Support: Cover match days on a rota basis, providing a high level of IT support for key Premier League football fixtures.

Technical Skills:

  • Senior Second Line Engineer Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a senior role, demonstrating advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Help Desk Experience: At least 5 years in a fast-paced help desk environment, handling a high volume of support tickets efficiently.
  • TCP/IP Enterprise Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise networks.
  • Windows System Administration: Solid background in Windows System Administration, with hands-on experience managing and maintaining Windows servers and services.
  • Fortinet Products and Services: In-depth knowledge of Fortinet products and services, with a proven track record of integrating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and migrating these solutions.
  • Office 365 Environment: Comprehensive understanding of the Office 365 environment, including product knowledge, administration, migration, and maintenance of these systems.
  • Azure Experience: Good understanding and experience with Azure, including deployment, management, and troubleshooting of Azure services.
  • Active Directory: Solid experience with Active Directory, including deployment, administration, and troubleshooting within both on-premises and hybrid environments (EntraID Connect).
  • Hybrid Setup Experience: Proven experience working in hybrid setups, integrating and managing both on-premises and cloud-based solutions.
  • Virtualisation: Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V, including migrating physical servers to virtual environments.
  • Security Best Practices: Knowledge of IT security best practices, including firewall configuration, anti-virus solutions, and data protection.

  • Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism and patience, maintaining a positive attitude, and finding solutions efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications: The ideal candidate would have between 2-3 of the below relevant industry certifications, although this list is not extensive:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  • Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) Certification
  • CompTIA Network+ / CCNA
  • CompTIA Security+
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • PRINCE2 Certification
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
